Creamy Fettucine with Herbs

Last week we wrote about 9 steps to prepping a dinner party at home helping to inspire a generation of busy foodies by re-discovering cooking and eating in with #JustCook by Club House.  And this week, we are sharing our very own special no-fail recipe, a creamy fettucini with herbs that started out as one of the first recipes we made when we first started out entertaining and has been our go-to recipe for years when we entertain at home.

Perfect over any pasta, this creamy herb sauce with its hint of nutmeg is super-easy to make and the entire meal only takes about 15 minutes, leaving you more time to enjoy time with your guests.  We love it over fettuccini, as the noodle stands up well with the heavy cream. Check out how to make it below.

Creamy Fettuccini with Herbs
(serves 4 people)
2 packages (350g) fresh fettucini
3 cups heavy cream
8 tablespoons of butter
1 teaspoon salt (we use pink Himilayan)

1/4 teaspoon Club House Ground Nutmeg
pinch of Club House Organic Cayenne Pepper
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp Club House Thyme Herb Grinder
1/4 tsp Club House Parsley Herb Grinder
1/4 tsp Club House Basil Herb Grinder

Garnish:  Parsley and Parmesan Cheese

Method:

In a saucepan, combine the cream, butter, salt, nutmeg, cayenne, thyme and basil, bring to a low boil and simmer for approximately 10 – 15 minutes or until the sauce is thickened and slightly reduced. While the sauce is cooking, start to boil the water for the fettuccini.  Once the water has started to boil, add the fettuccini and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Rinse and cover.  Return to the sauce, add in the Parmesan and parsley and simmer for 5 minutes more.  Pour the sauce into the pasta and stir until well combined.

For each serving, twirl a fork into the pot to create a 3 or 4 inch high stack of pasta.  Pour over a little sauce on top and garnish with Parmesan cheese and ground parsley.  Serve with a fresh salad and French bread.
